Our wildchilde moves into a commune, buys a boat, falls in love with the wrong man, eventually leaves her job at the VA to sail in a 22 foot sailboat from Boston to ...who knows? There's an urgency growing inside to do NOW and not put off what's important, as if she can see around the bend and knows what lies ahead . She ends up in Florida, a culture shock after the energy that was Boston and it becomes her new home.

Have you ever tried cooking Peking Duck on your knees in a makeshift oven placed over a two burner kerosene stove?? Hey, the best part is when the duck catches on fire! Joining us in our meal were Dave and Margaret Rogers, the two best friends anyone could have. Met them in Cape May and just kept meeting over and over until we traveled part of the way together. We're tied up together here off St Augustine, after hiking into town with backpacks to buy the darn duck. (It was good, though, and an article I wrote about it was published in Cruising World Magazine)
