A Study In Passion

PREMARITAL

Dress flung
onto chair
Unzipped pants
wadded on floor,
we collapse,
entangled
into an unmade bed
moan
sigh
groan
until the
cock crows
hello

STAGE ONE-MARITAL

Perfunctory kiss
and a how was your day
before dinner,
now bored
by its wait

Later
in a midnight room
pants neatly folded,
dress hung,
we slide carefully
under cool sheets
and 'do it'

STAGE TWO

Hairy arms
tickle
with their
surprising
caress

i giggle

he
deflates

Another night
spent
gazing,
eyes crossed,
in unsated
passion,
at
the tip of
my unkissed
nose

STAGE THREE-TERMINAL

Remote in hand
he dozes
burps
Lays chips
cuddle his lap.
'How to rejuvenate
your marriage' manual
under one arm
I prance, swirl
hike tight red skirt
to panty line
wiggle, simper
toss my hair
hear static
Think we should
trade for a new model?

he asks,
peering around me
I glance at the Lays
unrumpled by
any bulge
'Yeah' I say.
